Happy Friday, OOJH Families!!!
[Cue up Europe - the band…] It’s the final countdown! That’s right. One more week until Winter Break. We will be finishing iReady testing next week AND the Old Orchard staff will be engaging in The Second Annual (No Kids Allowed) Get Us to Winter Break Spirit Week!!!
For those of you who don’t know, a Spirit Week involves someone like myself identifying daily themes that specify something different to wear - in terms of clothing - for each day of the week. What is fun about our Get Us To Break Spirit Week is that the daily themes are ONLY shared with the adults. The adults are the only people who know what the themes are and then kids get to guess what the theme is. Sometimes it’s obvious and sometimes not. Either way, it’s fun for all and takes some of the edge off of the last week before break.
I am sharing this information with you because last year I encouraged parents and guardians to participate in dressing according to the themes of each day. We all need a little something to get us to break, amiright!? Some parents and guardians did participate last year and shared pictures. It was fantastic. So, again, I’d encourage you to join in our fun. Maybe you’ll be the only one wearing an ugly sweater in the office on Monday… who cares!? Just don’t tell your kids the theme!
Here’s the list of daily themes:
Monday - Ugly Sweater Day
Tuesday - Twin Day
Wednesday - Flannel Day
Thursday - Dress Like a Student Day
Friday - Dress Like When YOU Were a Student Day
